I have had about 4-5 fridge freezers in my day.

Every one of them including this one "leaks".

Where the drainage hole at back of fridge - water seems to leak from it resulting perhaps some water in the vegetable basket and also underneath it.

All these years I just rolled up a kitchen towel and put it at the hole and just changed it when I had to. Anybody know how I can stop the "leaks".

I have cleaned the hole many times but to no success.

It is not a 'leak' .It is water condensing from the fridge due to it being cooler in the fridge than outside. There is no way to prevent it , you just have to mop it up.
You need to poke something like a drinking straw right through the hole so it can drain out of the back.
Question Author
I have Hoppy been using the drink straw method but it didn't work.

So I take it Eddie this is a "common" thing.
The water drains into a warm tray so it can evaporate.
Question Author
Hoppy I pulled out fridge the other day to clean floor and looked at that tray - was looking for water but it musta evaporated or perhaps stayed in the fridge to cause that leak
Net curtain wire works a treat.
Aye, sounds blocked to me too.
Question Author
ok if it is blocked and I got the wire - should I expect the wire to come out "the other end etc".
Question Author
forgot to say when I did use the straw - the straw would only go so far
The net curtain wire will go right down the drain, clearing it completely.
Question Author
now for net curtain wire ?????- had loads of net curtains years ago but all gone now. Sista has nets - she may have the wire.

Question Author
by the way if I have to buy the wire - how much should I ask for - to do the job. Thanks
Find a child with an art kit. They might have a fluffy pipe cleaner, which is perfect
Question Author
Hoppy I used a pipe cleaner also but that only went down a certain length - not very much.
Keep wiggling and twisting it, or try from the other end of the drain tube.
Buy one metre, that should be long enough - feed it gently down the drain, moving it up and down.
Question Author
NOPE - it didn't work.

Bought the net curtain wire - 2 metres (it came in a pack) anyhoo - still only went down the length of the straw when it sorta hits something like steel.

May try and look for an 'ole at the back of fridge tomorrow - if anybody has any other ideas I could try.
Make sure you switch off the freezer before poking about conn.
Question Author
Tony I have that - it actually came with the fridge.
