Armchair Cleaning

My elderly aunt went into a nursing home and gave me her reclining chair.
It works perfectly but the upholstery is filthy.
Any ideas as to how I can clean it?

Some carpet cleaners have an attachment for upholstery and they use the same detergent.

I think you would probably be best to get a professional with a steam cleaner. If it is very dirty, home cleaning might not do the job.

I agree about getting a professional in but you don’t want a steam cleaner you want an upholstery shampooer.

yes, steam cleaning won't do much for dirty upholstery...

I'd have a think about having it reupholstered if it's a nice chair.

A good upholstery shampoo clean will make it look like new. Most carpet shampoo companies do upholstery as well.
