My gas oven ignition is just clicking and not firing up when turned on. I cleaned it using soft brush and it worked fine for few days, now it is happening again.
Any advice please? Appliance engineers I have rung only deal with electric.

You can find a local gas engineer here: https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/find-an-engineer/

There are several different systems
http://www.appliance411.com/faq/gas_range_ignition_systems.shtml
so it's not easy for us to advise you, other than to state that you probably need a new component fitted by a gas appliance engineer.

Alternatively, do as I've been doing for well over a decade since my oven's ignition system packed up: Use matches!

Thanks Buenchico, we managed to light it with a match but the clicking wouldn't stop.
don't mess around with it, leave it to a qualified engineer. Gas is dangerous, very dangerous.
I've seen enough accidents and audit reports of both LPG and Natural Gas having worked in that area of the oil business a fair bit.

I wouldn't try to repair it, just wondered if there was a simple answer, but thanks.
