Are they actually a reputable brand? Most of my kitchen knives are Sabatier and they have all become blunt very quickly

Agreed Fitzer but to be fair I am hardly ever at home and probably need to carve a roast only a few times per year. Likewise, my knives don't tend to get a battering in the kitchen draw because I am not her and anyway, I hardly ever eat traditional food that needs to be carved.

I had a look at the knives and some say Professional Sabatier which I think might be the rubbish ones. The rest say V Sabatier. I`m binning the Professional ones and have replaced them with Robert Welsh Signatures plus his sharpener. The V Sabs are made of the same composition of metal as the Welsh ones so I will just give them a good sharpen and see what happens. Thanks again for the advice

Well, I kept the V Sabatiers and replaced the carver and bread knife with Robert Welsh Signiture ones. I only ordered them on Monday and they arrived yesterday morning. I ordered his hand held sharpener which is fantastic and gave them a sharpen and they are fantastic now. I`m very pleased.
