Recently pigeons have started to wander on my lawn and pecking at whatever it is they are pecking at. Its a basic front lawn with no borders, no flowers or any food handed out. They just peck at the lawn. They are also crapping all over my path! Other than banging on the window (which doesn't faze them anymore) or running outside, naked and sreaming, is there naything I can do to deter them?
We get loads on our street but they just peck the road rather than lawns. I've no idea what they find but they seem to keep coming back for more. Or maybe they are just sharpening their beaks.
I get this every year around this time, in my case its wood pigeons.
A pair come back year after year to nest in some ivy. this is on their flight path and where I usually park my car, which is right on the drop zone.
What I do is tolerate them for a while and park my car somewhere else til the splattering stops.
this time of year its mostly young fresh green shoots their eating, which go's through em like a dose of salts.
At least these pigeons have a healthy diet. I saw one in my local high street recently. It landed on the pavement and started eating a chocolate Easter egg someone had dropped. Flying dustbins are my description of them. Half of them hop around on feet that have been half eaten away from roosting in a pile of pigeon poop which is highly corrosive.
