camelia plants.
I have a camelia plant in the garden,it`s been there since 1984. This year it has throw up an off shoot. It`s about 6"-8" tall. The trouble with it is that it`s to close to it`s parent plant. I would like to move it. I`ve excavated down and found that it is attached to a large root. Now my question is: Can I cut this large root either side of the off shoot and then lift it out carefully?
The off shoot that is.
I think, what I would do, is cut off the sucker/offshoot with a pair of secateurs, close to where it is attached to the large root as possible. This method should keep root disturbance down to a minimum.
