can i run an electric oven from a 13 amp plug.

Hi gary, if that is the correct value then yes it is no problem, but that value sounds way way too low to be the oven power are you sure that it is not just the fan power or the light or something.
Some confusion about units here.  KWh is an energy figure; what you need is the power rating which you will express as KW or can calculate from a figure in A (amps).  If you mean 0.79KW then it's only taking about 3.5 Amps, but I agree, this is very low for  a "real "oven. Don't forget a kettle can be 3KW which is approx the 13A capacity of your plug/socket. 

Hi tony, no confusion at all really as I assumed garyuk2 doesn't know whats Kw or Kwh and just read the label, thats why I said only the fan or the light because the value in Kw is just way too low for a power using device.

Are you talking about a microwave oven?   Very low power to be a normal "conventional" oven.  A 13amp socket can handle [13*230/1000]=2.99KWH.Assuming a 230volt supply.
