For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Part L of the building regulations became law in April 05. And from then on it became illegal to install a regular Combi Boiler except for a very few exceptions of which will take a lot of explaining. You need to consult a CORGI registered engineer such as myself for more info. But any way now we have to install the more energy efficient CONDENSING type boilers For around 500. you will not get much and the price all depends on how big a boiler you need for your house, how many bathrooms , radiators, rooms to heat ect. will determine its size & price. Biasi are cheap & cheerfull but not big on performance in my experiance you may be dissapointed with its out put. Vailiant are ' i think' are over priced for what they offer & look dated & big. Baxi boilers are pretty good & reliable with a range to suit any household but are dearer & probabbly the best is a Worcester/Bosch but you can expect to pay anywhere from 700 to 1200 depending on its size (power not dimensions) But remeber you will also need the correct flue , a filling loop, cleansers & inhibitors as well to protect your new boiler & prolong its life. it all adds up but if you dont clean the old system & install an inhibitor your new boiler will give you trouble no matter how much it costs. A boiler is like a car have it serviced yearly & keep it well maintained & checked out especially the concentrate of the inhibitor and it will give you years of untroubled use regardless of make & cost.
