Treating Moss On Tarmac Drives

Hi Gardening ABers out there. I'm going to have plenty of time on my hands in a few weeks' time, as I am retiring from my full time job at the end of next week. So there will be no excuse for me not to get to grips with treating all the moss that's growing all over our tarmac front drive. Any ideas or recommendations as to what would get rid of this pesky stuff, please?

Jeyes Fluid - but I did find when I retired that my days got busier and busier - don't know how I managed to fit in a full-time job before - so get your moss removed before your retirement calendar fills up!

thanks for all your suggestions, folks - much appreciated - and for the retirement good wishes! Loads of things to go on the "wish-list" so far, whether I get round to them all is another matter! Anyway .... we've got Jeyes fluid in the house, and it's always easy to get hold of. Do I use it neat, or a strong solution thereof. Someone told me that caustic soda is good too. Any thoughts?

I used caustic soda yesterday to get rid of paint on the concrete flags. I couldn't believe the heat that generated when it was mixed with cold water so be very careful.

The paint did lift pretty well but has left a residue which I will keep on treating or maybe scrape.

PS - I used Jeyes some time back but never worked for me.

Sprinkle with soda crystals and damp slightly. Should brush off in about a week.

Happy retirement Chokkie, just don't let the moss grow under your feet. As posted earlier, I don't know where I found the time to go to work. I am as "busy" now as I have ever been. Armillatox and caustic soda will indeed work but I always fill up a few big pans of boiling water in the spring to clean up the patio and paths, works a treat with no contamination issue if you have pets or plants.
