Anyone know of a good garden variety with good size flowers or attractive leaf colour ?.
I'm thinking of planting some in my wildlife garden. I've seen some good swathes of it this year, in the wild, as it appears to flourish in damp conditions.
When you google it, most of the info that comes up, is on how to kill it, well I want to positively encourage it.

I have loads you can have Chip. Just bring a bucket.
..I have no idea what sort it is. It just grows. It's very pretty but can be a bit invasive.

Thanks Tilly, thats what I'm after.
I've seen one with a burgundy leaf thats rather nice.
Mine's just green and yellow.
And what Tilly doesn't have I have the rest. It's absolutely everywhere in my garden at the moment.

Thank you for the Wildflowershop link, Woof. That's an interesting site.
I have the ordinary variety that is all out in bloom at the moment. I love it, mine is in a really big planter , I leave it and it come up every year, always a welcome sight.
I tolerate mine because the name is so pretty. :-)

No, Celandine. Lovely word.
I'm going to get some of those wood anemones. They are very pretty.

If my memory serves me well, Celandine means 'first swallow'
Aww! Does it, Chip? That's even nicer.
Every year the opening of the celandine petals means Spring is sprung to me. Encourage it!
I have tons of the damn stuff - free to collector!
There are dozens of different forms of this from white through to deep orange, singles and doubles and ones with nicely marked leaves.
Sadly the national collection seems to have gone, but I am sure I saw some on sale on Ebay. Try looking up Ficaria verna which is its new name.
