Has anyone any idea what can be planted in a border that floods about twice a year, tried lavender last year but this year seems to have no new growth, so it may have drowned. Thanks gardeners
We really need to know what the drainage is like and why the border floods. If the border floods because the ground is sick and poorly drained then drainage needs to be improved. If the ground drains well but is flooded because of of the natural state of the land then plants which like boggy conditions could thrive
Sounds like a difficult site but not imposible.
I'd go for one of the dogwoods (cornus alba) but defiantly not another lavender. The ones atractive colored bark give year round interest.
