Tap For The Hose

the hose attached to the tap bit in the yard has split emitting water. The hose attachment is sorta "worn" into the tap so I can't undo it myself - I wouldn't have the strength.

In the meantime before I call my plumber is that I can buy to wrap around this little bit. thanks

would duck tape hold it Spathy - think I may need something stronger

Do you mean use WD-40 to take the hose off completely - as I said I wouldn't have the strength - but I'll give it a go

no jj that's a joke...ignore the WD 40. something like ths should make a temporary repair....wrap lots of layers as tight as you can and have the surfaces dry before you apply it.

If the hose has split, it has done so for a reason .. usually they have perished. The sensible solution would be to replace it.
Or if replacing it is a problem you would cut the split section off and shorten the hose a bit, before re-attaching the connectors.
A decent roll of duck tape will cost you at least a fiver...
At this point you would be half way to buying a new hose .. and no you dont need a plumber .. you just need a handyman with a pair of pipe grips.
If you do go down the duck tape route you will find that if you attach a spray head, the mains pressure will just blow the tape and still leak.

Cut the split end off. I'd not personally mess around with tape should it happen to me. Well maybe if it was the middle of the hose but even then, if determined not to replace the hose, probably better to cut out the damage and use a proper connector to join the two bits up again.
