What To Do!!!

After Christmas I put my real tree in the garden, a few days ago i noticed a female blackbird flew out of it everytime I went to the bin or the back-gate or do the gardening, I had a look and low and behold she had made a nest in the Christmas tree, I can't see enough to see if she has eggs yet but this is my ponder, if I go into the garden and disturb her enough to have her fly off the nest will she abandon the nest and possibly the eggs or will she get used to me being out there, I don't want to have her abandon the nest I would much rather move the bin and not use the back gate if this a possibility, Thanks guys (in advance)

Hi, thanks for that cause I am concerned about her, I've put out seed and hung some fat balls too, I wouldn't dream of disturbing the eggs etc as I don't want to upset her, maybe I should move the bins? the less disturbance the better I guess for her

better to move them if you can....

As spathiphyllum has said, she will get used to you going in and out. I've got a nest box beside my back door inhabited by bluetits and it doesn't seem to bother them that I am in and out all day.

We had a blackbirds nest in the clematis by the front door. Absolutely fine, it was. The blackbird would watch us with her little yellow rimmed eye every time we went in and out. Lovely. :-)

I am currently slave to Mr & Mrs Blacky.

I get cheaped at, followed, glowered at until I feed them. Sometimes they don't want what I give them, in which case I know they expect me to see if the hedgehog has left any food in his dish!

Just tonight when I got home, Mrs Blacky was almost as brave as Mr - first time she's been at the threshold - he's crossed it. He's also follwed me into the greenhouse!

If giving mealworms feed them live ones if possible, much better for them

Great answers guys I'm really grateful to you, I've had a pair of jackets for the past 2 years that have become unofficial garden pets, coming down whenever I go into the garden and appearing jumping along the fence same times everyday for their food I put out, but the pheasant feeding from my bird table every morning and evening is a wonderful sight, so now the bins are moved, and live mealworms on the shopping list for tomorrow, thank you all once again
