Dishwasher Not Cleaning

Can anyone suggest what is wrong with my dishwasher. It's about 3 years old and this has only started happening in the last month or so. Things are not coming out clean, well specifically china mugs - go in tea stained and come out even more tea stained (in that it's an even darker brown). I have cleaned all the filters and sprayers, run a bottle of cleaner through it, plenty of salt and use Finish powerball. At the end everything is hot so it's not that. China used to come out as clean as new.
I'm flummoxed about which bit is not working. Any ideas. please?

I literally wouldn't have room for one, no matter how compact the size. Just curious to the running costs.

Why are your china mugs so stained, Prudie? They really shouldn't stain.

Purdie, Bleach DOES NOT remove Tannin ,it just bleaches it so you can't see it. The Tannin is still there but invisible. The next time the cup is used the Tannin will be even worse as the new Tannin just clings to the old invisible tannin.

Is the water getting hot enough?

Probably because on a Saturday for example I'll have tea in bed about 6.30, make another about 7 when downstairs and then another about 9ish when OH gets up in the same mug (MY mug)- all with just a rinse under the tap inbetween = so it builds up.

Use a clean mug each time. Buy some more. :-)

I have just looked in Tesco and Sainsbury's and cannot find tannin cleaners - so I hardly think someone needs to definitely buy it!

I feel really ignorant. I don't use any of this stuff just all in one dishwasher tablets and everything is usually spotless.

Well I know some solutions but that doesn't tackle the problem, something is wrong with my dishwasher...

Is it cleaning the cutlery and plates properly, Prudie?

Use the rough side of a scourer pad and elbow grease to remove tannin - you can't beat it.

I don't understand why there are so many stained cups around...

As said everything else seems as clean to the eye as it can be. These mugs used to come out sparkling white inside and now they don't.

Maybe its the cup/ mugs that's the problem rather than the dishwasher ?
