Frying Pan

I’ve got one of these, which is fine, but I’d like the same sort with a higher side wall (not a wok).

Thanks, but I really want Teflon, not iron - I think non-stick is one of the real benefits of the space race!

By all means correct me, but I see buying Tefal as buying Teflon.

Tefal is the name of a brand of cookware.....Teflon is an accepted name for PTFE, the anti-stick coating that is applied to their non-stick ware.
The coating on the pan that minty has linked to is 3-layer ILAG...a ceramic coating with excellent non-stick properties.
Many people avoid PTFE coating, because they contain the element fluorine....personally, I'd opt for ceramic instead....we have several items of ceramic-coated cookware and they are excellent.

In my experience Teflon starts peeling off after a year or two, and I don't fancy it mixed with my food, so I go for ceramic. Currently lasting well, as is my cast iron one. (all are induction, but work well on ordinary hob too)

Thanks danny, I'll bear that in mind - but I think my frying pan budget is used up for a while!

I have had some experience of Green pans.The non stick doesn't last.

Oh I see, it’s the MAKE - I thought it was a description like ‘green energy’ or the like. Old age...

Well, got my ceramic pan today (Amazon). Lovely object. Even washing it was a joy - totally non-stick.

I’ll report back after a few weeks’ cooking.
