We have recently had the carpet removed and put laminate flooring down in the living room, and bought a couple of rugs to put down. The living room looks really smart but we find the rugs a bit slippy. We have looked on the internet about what to put underneath them, but are still not sure what to go for, dont want anything that will damage flooring, what do others use please.
you can get tape style "rug gripper"s that you stick to the bottom corners of each rug to help keep it in place. This works much better on laminate than it does on carpet.
Urmm.. If it does, then it would be a mark you could easily lift with dettol or any other cleaning spray. It would not be a permanent mark you couldn't shift.
We bought some of this several years ago - absolutely brilliant. You can easily cut it to size. We bought a large size, cut some off to hold a rug in place on a laminate floor and used the remainder to hold a carpet offcut in place as a doormat. Previous attempts for the doormat had seen it creep around but, since using this, it hasn't budged.
It's tacky, rather than sticky, so doesn't mark but does its job perfectly.
I got something from John Lewis than keeps them in place. Can't recall the name but check them out. The idea is you cut a shape same size as the rug to go underneath it.
