Why Are There Loads Of Flies

In my windows. There is no food about. Never seen so many.

I think the warm humid weather has made it generally a successful year for fly numbers. Are you near anything that might encourage flies like a farm or a grubby neighbours? If both the answers are no, and especially if the problem is in your kitchen then bleaching your drains can help....I know from experience that there may not be any noticeable smell.

No I live in a built up area. Not near any rubbish or the like.

then bleaching your drains....all of them...bathroom and loo as well as kitchen....is worth a try

Personally, I've not seen too many, so far this year.
Mind you,theirs some big fat spiders around.

I like Spiders too, they eat the flies and stuff but I have to admit a big 'um the other day scuttled across my kitchen floor when i put the light on, he did make me jump. He headed under my fridge freezer but I've not seen him since.

Because the very mild winter has ment a lot have not died off from last year! Normally around 90 % are killed by the cold weather !

I've had hardly any flies this year, so there must be something attracting them. I'm in the Midlands though, Maybe it's hotter where you live.

I think the weather has been a lot hotter in the SE, so that might explain why there are more flies about, but not why there are so many in your house. I hate flies in the house, so I really sympathise with you.

I do have fly cartridge killers in the Windows which is making them drowsy then killing them. It's just not nice seeing them.

Tamaris, it's definitely worth a look if you like a bit of comedy. Martin Laurence and Tim Robbins are both brilliant in it. I haven't seen it for a few years myself.... one to watch again.
