I have just seen a programme called Garden Rescue and Charlie Dimmock planted mares tail into a pond. Is mares tail not highly invasive?

I think it is but the whole point of the programme is not horticultural but in fact just a vehicle for inane clichés and the bit where the two pretty boys pretend to hide and have a completely unscripted convo, reprising the standard guff that's transformed a weedy back yard into an oasis of calm.

Or something.
Oh, and I know what needs a makeover and it ain't the jardin.
I'm not a gardener but being in a small pond wouldn't that limit what it invades?
The aquatic plant is different to the invasive weed you are thinking of.

I doubt it ummmm, it bursts through tarmac, concrete, "weed suppressing" sheets and finds any gap in paving.
Unless it's a different plant of course. :)
Lol :-)

Ah, that explains it Mamyalynne! Thanks.
Charlie knows what she's doing.
Not all mares tail is highly invasive, in fact the aquatic one that Charlie planted is quite well behaved.

It makes a brilliant pot scourer if you're out camping.
Glad if I helped.

Common names can cause confusion.
