Hey peeps my oh just bought a new drill which uses the same battery as our saw. It says that you can actually drill holes in wood but seams you can just attach drill bits to screw in screws. How do you use drill bits? http://imgur.com/gallery/MoHmIvJ

Horses for courses UK. I don't seem to need to drill so much these days, particularly masonry or metal, so I don't have much need for a monster drill. For instance anyone who needed a good core drill would need a drill that was not an impact drill and was able to be adjusted to various speeds. Myself ... I find I use my multifunction good old Black and Decker mainly to...

that looks like an impact driver to me.
see here:
I thought it was April the first for a minute. Is this a serious question?

great but can I drill holes with it?
See what I mean?
so if you want to do drilling I'd say you need a drill.
13:30, no, it's designed for driving in screws. You need a drill.
it only has a hole for a hexagonal driver bit, no doubt you could bodge some sort of way of making holes with it but it ain't a drill it's an impact driver. Can you not return it and get a drill?

OK so basically we bought an impact driver and not one that does both. ok well its not that much of an issue as we do have tonnes of screws to do. Mystery solved thank you
Question Author
Tora we wanted to mainly use it for screws its the reason why we bought it but we did think it could drill as well. Thank you that video clarified it.
Just a thought Uk...

For your uses, an ordinary cordless drill/driver would be more suitable.

No matter, but, since it's nice to have you as a regular on here, you can always call on buying advice from the many knowledgeable folk here who can advise. :o)

Thank you builder :) we do have a non chordless drill so we have everything covered now its not a big deal just not quite what we thought.
Tora, see my link above for hex drill bits.
Apparently Uks driver can be used for drilling, although I have no experience of one of these.

Btw builder while you are checking. How do you screw these holes through the door to attach the handles?

Do you drill from both sides into the middle? Then put the screw straight through that clamps the handles? Thank you so much :)
There is an attachment called an impact driver chuck that will turn the impact driver into a drill. This one is a good quality one and has a keyless chuck. There are some cheaper versions if the drill option is only an occasional thing.

I think someone is taking the P....roverbial.
This one is cheaper and does not take the full range of drill bits.
