Orchid

I have been given an orchid encased in a tall narrow glass vase. There are no instructions as to care. Can anyone help please. I'm worried about watering.

I've been very lucky with orchids and have about 6 that repeat flower and have kept them for several years. They sit in good light on a window sill but not too much direct sun and basically I ignore them. Have never fed nor repotted and water about every week to 2 weeks but only use collected rainwater.

I'm sorry bookbinder I have no idea they are small mauve flowers.

I give mine a 20 minute soak in dilute orchid feed, then drain the water off and repeat when the compost dries out. This can be about three to four weeks in a coolish room.
