http://imgur.com/gallery/M50D3xB which side should go on the viewable side? Should it be the 90 degrees cut or the side where it has a bit cut out like a chamfer I think. Also is this wood treated? Or can we use the off cutely for chopping boards? http://imgur.com/gallery/FB510ko
Thank you all :) we ended up trying warm milk and marmite yesterday it was definitely itelly VOM . hehe
I'm sorry, UK. I've been thinking about this, but I still can't understand what you mean :o(
Could you have another go?
Part 2. It's definitely not "tanalised", that is, treated with the usual "green" treatment.
It is possible that it has been treated with a clear treatment, but I doubt it.
Even so, it would be fine for chopping boards. It looks like a nice piece of "deal" (pine or fir.)
This looks like pine to me. I imagine the side with the chamfer on the edges may have been intended to be visible, although either side could be chosen depending on the effect you want. I very much doubt that it has been treated but as it looks somewhat aged it is difficult to state with any certainty what the slight patina contains. Pine is, in my opinion, much too soft to serve as chopping board material.
Ok thank you we will save the scals for chopping boards then:) Karl answered the 1st part builder but thank you anyway. We were just wondering which should be the visible side of the wood. We have decided to go with the side that will look flattest. Also we have bought some pink pain to go inside of the storage to make all the tools snuggly hehe
