New Carpet

new carpet coming tomorrow and boy have I worked hard. I have so much chrystal good and bad - but all washed and dried.

I have massive windows between my living room and dining room and they were washed as well today.

Bought new tapestry cushion covers and they are smaller than my old feather paddings. covers were 55cm x 55cm and cushions paddings were 62cm x 62cm - too tight.

I made a slit in the pads and pulled out hundreds and hundreds of feathers into bin outside. had to do that 4 times (4 cushions) and now covers are on. Hung a wee canvas picture of butterflys so had to figure out where the nails should go. Got blue tac and marked with a marker - stuck it on to the back of picture - pressed the picture on the wall and where the orange marker - hammered two nails. Picture is now hung.

Since it has been a while since I have "men" in I had forgotten how hard it is to do all these wee bits and pieces and of course I am older.

Got exact colour of throws to match cushion covers, picture etc. I know they will slip but I am tacking them on with drawing pins so they will stay in place at the back anyway.

Am done done done and my knees are very sore - up and down a few ladders. Will never be getting any more work done again. Mind you the living room could have done with a lick of paint but that'll wait until a better day.

It is only 10.00pm and what ever I have done I have extreme pain in both my knees - never had pain like it. Really awful - have rubbed some balm on them and now I'm into bed. thanks Barsel - think I'm doing things now at 70 and still I'm thinking I''m only 50 LOL

sorry Pasta - about getting the name wrong but I was so tired and in quite a lot of pain.

I did buy those command strips many moons ago and they never worked but marking out with a marker and you can't see the marker as the nails are there LOL

Chanel - if only I could do - the carpet fitters are here right now and I'm upstairs.

My sister had a boyfriend an oul fella and he was mean - he asked the sister to bring over to me radio with you know the old tapes. The tapes weren't working and he asked me to look at it - hey what do you think I am - any I unscrewed the radio and right enough the little wire drawing the two tape scenario had fallen off so I put the wire back around the wheels of the tape. Hey presto - tape started to work.

Guess what - following week he sent sister over with his watch for me to fix - I said "getta out here boy" LOL. We roared.

all dun dun dun. Ornaments back and you know burnt orange is really lovely and warm - just the whole look makes you feel all warm. But I have come to conclusion - that will be the last time I will ever be decorating again - don't care - it's too much for me as one person and that Maxie can't even give you a hand - in fact he is enjoying the terracotta throws. He hasn't sat on the leather since I got it. So he is slumbering away.

It is lovely Barsel - wouldn't have realised how warm it all is. When I go to my computer class next January - I am going to learn on what more I can do regarding uploading, whatsapp etc.
