Small white daisies and clover have usually appeared in garden grass in Summer - this year, however, grass is covered in small, pretty, yellow daisy-like flowers (some of which are growing about 6-8 inches high). My cousin, living hundreds of miles away in Somerset, has experienced same. Anyone any idea what this flower is?
Thanks, Buenchico - sadly, my 'phone is still from the Dark Ages!
Looking at pictures on Internet of Coreopsis, the flower doesn't quite look like any of them. What puzzles me is that it should just suddenly appear all over the grass this year ...a month or so ago, there was only clover and small white daisies.
I also have them in my garden, but only in a 2 metre square patch ! They grow up to a foot tall and the heads appear to follow the sun, and in the evening they close up !
