wray... what's a "stone steam train planter"?
Is it an outdoor plant pot of some sort?
If you ever watch Bargain Hunt you would not ever wish to clean a stone planter to keep it’s value.

However, if you want to do it for your own pleasure then try a stiff brush dipped in a bowl of warm washing up water.
I've seen stone stuff steamed clean. I'll try and find a link.
Has anyone you know got a jetwash?
Bleach to kill mould ( black marks) with a little bit of detergent and warm water Not sure why you would want to though. Most garden ornaments look far better aged.
If they have be cautious, as they can be a bit vicious.
Splash it with cheap Cola, then brush it off. It works, but wait 15 mins between splashin' anna brushin'.
