I have one at the side and front of house - they have both gone out.  Does that mean I have to pay for two new ones or can the bulbs be replaced.

You should be able to replace the bulbs

It depends on what type of light bulbs they are.  The newer ones have integrated LED's now which need the whole unit replaced.

Did they both go out at the same time

Is it a lamp problem ? Or a sensor problem ?

It sounds to me likely to be a sensor issue. Check it hasn't moved, and the sensitivity settings, etc..

Sadly, as straydog says, many newer LED lights are built in and its very difficult to change them.

IMHO these sort of lights have built in obsolescence and should be banned.

You can't change the bulbs on my sensor light, you would have to buy a new unit, but it did say so in the instructions.

Without knowing what type of lights they are, no one can give you a definitive answer.
