She's got no chance. The video clearly shows the server handing it over perfectly and then the fraudster throwing it on herself.

This is why surveillance video is good for everyone except criminals.

The fraudster is a man, it's gone to court and he has been awarded 50m USD. 

There is an appeal re the amount of compensation 

Thanks for the correction Barry. I thought the fraudster was a woman. It's hard to tell how the fraudster identifies from the video.

I thought he eeas a she until I read the article 

The moustache and beard was a big clue...

But of a clue right there.

I can see it more clearly on my PC.  The cup slipped off the tray, the court decided it was not properly secured in to the tray.

Third degree burns to his groin and inner thighs, two skin grafts to his penis including grafts using pig skin, nerves removed from his penis. Any friction to his penis causes pain and he has PTSD.

I just don't understand how they arrive at these ridiculous numbers. OK medical bills bit of compo etc but $50m??

Loss of sex life - he's a young man, he was 25 when it happened.

Starbucks is a huge company, a small award would be of no consequence to them

That'll put the insurance premiums up a bit

I thought that since a similar McDonald's lawsuit, years ago now, that drive-through places only delivered lukewarm beverages these days ... obviously not, though.

All these businesses must be a bag of nerves out there! Ridiculous!
