Moss / Algae on my Driveway

Does anyone know an effective way to remove the moss / algae from my tarmac driveway??

I used the pressure washer at the weekend, but once it was wet, I couldn't see where the stuff was.

Now it's dried there are lots of nice tracks where it has gone. To do this again would use lots and lots of water ..... very wasteful

The pressure washer is usually pretty effective at removing the moss and/or algae. After washing the entire area with it, apply a liberal amount of ordinary laundry bleach. This will kill the remaining growth, but expect it to come back in the future, especially when the weather warms. There are commercially available products that do the same job but can be expensive and may kill the lawn that edges the drive... Good luck!

Have used a Jeyes Fluid solution in the past. It seems to kill the moss/algae but doesn't necessarily remove it all although brushing with a really stiff broom at that point will dislodge most of the dead stuff.

A bio degradable outdoor cleaner, could be just what your looking for, such as 'Armillatox' It kills moss and fungi.

It comes in 1or 5 litre containers. Best of luck..

jeyes fluid seems to do the trick our pressure washer lifted some of the tarmac and exposed dirt underneath making it worse..it is old and needs redoing...i have to do the drive every year with jeyes fluid as its just old...i also have to use path weed clearer on it as weeds break through...
