Tulips
I planted mine, eventually, in December! What do you think are my chances of them flowering this year? I just kept forgetting they were in the drawer! Anyone cut their grass yet? Can you make water lillies smaller by just taking them out, chopping them off a bit, and putting them back in? Loads more gardening questions will now follow as it is spring so keep looking....

Grass, I've not cut mine yet but my garden is more of a wildlife garden so I'm not really trying to achieve a pristine lawn.
I suppose what your doing with your water lillies will help keep them within bounds but you could try something smaller to start with, I swear by the fringed water lily, its not a true water lily but has small pads about the size of a 50p and yellow buttercup-like flowers that are fringed at the edge. I will keep looking, Good Luck..
Yep....just cut off part of the corm (root) and it will bud up and grow. It's actually recommended that people with lillies in their ponds do this every 5-10 years just to thin them out a bit.
You might find that growth is obviously not as vigorous as when it was one big root but by next year, you should see it back to its normal self.
Yep....mowed my lawn twice now. I mowed last week and i had a hat, gloves and scarf on and there was flakes of snow in the air !!!
