Cones outside Houses to reserve parking?
Does anyone know if this is legal? Allowed? Illegal?
We have a house being built next door and the builders cone off about 20 yards of street every week for their vehicles and no residents can park there. Beinf parking is tight down our street, this is p-ing a few people off.
Surely, only legal establishments and government agencies are allowed to restrict parking

Since posting I mamaged (finally!) to get through to the local council highways department and they said:-
"It is not permitted to reserve or block part of a public highway using cones or any other methods. The ability to restrict parking on a public highway (by the use of road markings, cones or posts) is only permitted by Legal Body's and Government Agencies".
She also added... move them and if they continue to do it, call us and we'll fine them!
Nice words!
