can somebody please tell me a good place to find all the ins and outs of the right to buy your council house that you hear about all the time.

just get a right to buy form from your local council office or the info comes with it, a lot of areas now dont get such a good discount as this changed last year, some areas are still on the old system but mostly only get 16% off of the market value of houses in the area, the info is all in the booklet they give you with application form, just fill it in send it back someone will come to view your house (they dont take in to consideration what youve done i.e new kitchen etc, you wouldn't have a higher value given on the improvements youve made your self) they then send you a letter stating what the price your house would cost you, you dont have to proceed with it if you dont wish to purchase it and you have so long a cooling period to think it over with no commitment. hope this makes sense to you and helps.

baller, make sure you check if the council will help you before trying a comercial company. lot of councils have bods that will assist you.also some banks may be able to help if you were looking at taking out a morgage with them.

probably of no help, but i was in the millitary for six years and this was added to my entitlement years. saved me even more dosh!!
