laminated floors

can anymone tell me if leaving the carpet paddingand installing the floors is ok,some someone tell me no that i should put the padding one buys at the homedepoit store, and other say it is ok to have more insolation, can some tell me which is correct, so far i put on plank and it fell cushiony , and not flat like others floors, those it matters?
