baumatic ceramic hob
3 Answers
I've got a new baumatic ceramic hob, fitted by a qualified electrician. Used it last night for the first time and although the cooking zone I was using did heat up, it didn't stay red but sort of made a clicking noise went red for a few seconds then went back to black again and continued to do this the whole time it was switched on. I've only ever used gas cookers before now so don't know if it's normal. Thanks in advance. Mandy x

I advise getting the electrician back asap to determine whether it was his fitting or the product at fault. Once youre sure its the product youll need to get on to Baumatics service line. http://www.baumatic.co.uk/

Good luck with that one. I had extensive dealings with them last year and their service function is a complete joke. I sent the product back in the end!

Your hob seems perfectly normal to me.
I have a Bosch Ceramic Hob. When I switch the rings on full heat the ring gets red but after a short time it will go off and then on again.
It does this on all the ring settings to keep the heat at the temprature you want it to be, this is the way ceramic hobs work!
I have used mine for about three years now with no problems.
