What is this plant please and what does it prefer?

We've got this on our terrace. I just re-potted it yesterday as it was out-growing its plastic tub.

What is it? We're in Barcelona - does it prefer direct sunlight or shade ? (pretty hot sun this time of year).

And what's the best watering schedule? (obviously after dusk so as not to fry it) Thanks.

Hi, you have a Cycad, commonly called sago palm, they are not frost hardy, but guess that is no problem in Barcelona! They like full light but shade from hot sun, so your terrace is ideal. Water moderately, reduce watering and humidity in winter. Your plant looks well looked after, you usually pot on or top dress in spring. Hope this helps.
