Should I turn off my immersion heater during the day?

people say that if you use the immersion then leave it on 24/7 this is b'cos it has a cut out switch on ,when its reached it temp.off it goes when it cooled alittle its back on rather then heating up from cold or much cooler than it would of been.i think they are right looking at it logically so in the long run it will save you money
