I was given this table about 6 years ago when a member of my family died, I think it is such an attractive piece. But....... disaster struck when I put (don't ask me why) one of those liquid plug in air freshners onto the surface. Subsequently it tipped over and leaked onto the table top, in the process it striped some of the varnish and really has made a mess. I'm wondering if I can have the whole piece dipped to strip it back to the original wood? If so it would be where to take it as I live near Wolverhampton and what sort of cost I would be looking at, and.......... what I would have to treat it with afterwards. Many thanks for any help. Kind regards Rebecca

If you look in Yellow Pages under Furniture Restorers or something similar you may find somebody who can restore it for you. It may depend on the type of wood, etc.

Somebody dealing in French Polishing may also know of a technique which would restore your table.
