Can anyone give me any tips on how to stop the cutting cable in a garden strimmer from sticking inside the drum.

Sorry, it does seem to be an inherent fault with them and I hope someone knows!
A lot of strimmer string comes with a light dusting of some kind of powder. I've just bought a petrol strimmer and loaded the drum up with string and gave it a dusting of cheap talcum powder. So far this appears to have worked and I only had one jam up which could have been down to the way I wound the string on.
