Wind Turbines

Does anyone live near wind turbines the large variety as they are proposing to erect some about a mile from my home? are they noisy?

You won't hear them from a mile away .... you get some 'swooshing' from a few hundred yards, but they're pretty ok ... I've had no problems with noise and I'm half a mile form a wind farm (12 turbines).

The people that complain would rather have a power-station would they?

Thanks there has been a lot of protesting but I think they will be built. The other part of our village is to get a waste incinerator about 2 miles away from me luckily the wind blows in the other direction
