Air-vents

Hi,I have just had my 1960s bungalow walls insulated with a type of (rockwool) filler,the guys have sealed the air-vents up and say i should leave them like that! I thought it may be to keep the insulation in as they were pumping it in,any thoughts please.

Are the air-vents below the damp proof course? If the've blocked these up you can be in serious trouble with damp affecting the floorboards & joists. .
Do you have any gas appliances?

If so they may just have made your house dangerous and illegal
Another thought! Do you have timber floors at ground level? If so, then it is essential that the vents are cleard to allow ventilation to the space under the floors. The air flow prevents dry rot forming.
