I am growing some tomatoes not sure of variety, at the moment there are quite a few on the plant fairly large, but my question is why are they not turning red?

I am assuming they are in greenhouse. .Make sure you have stopped each plant and take off all side shoots. Feed with tomorite (follow directions). Hopefully they will start ripening soon. skylight
If you think thay are big enough for you, pick them, and put them in a bowl with a Banana or a bought red one, they'll soon turn red,
Great answers!
Here's another tell them they're the prettyest things you ever did see, that should make em blush ;-)
That's a Cracker Tbird!!!!
I think some of it may be the weather too Doncaster - everyone I know is reporting the same problem this year.
If they don't go red try this recipe for fried green tomatoes!

INGREDIENTS:
4 to 6 green tomatoes
salt and pepper
cornmeal
bacon fat or vegetable oil
PREPARATION:
Slice the tomatoes into 1/4 - 1/2-inch slices. Salt and pepper them to taste. Dip in meal and fry in hot oil about 3 minutes or until golden on bottom. Gently turn and fry the other side. Serve as a side dish - delicious with breakfast!
pick them green, put in a small brown paper bag [ like you get at the greengrocers] and put 1 red tomato amongst them, they will all turn red within 5 days.
