One job always turns into another. In the small loft above my kitchen I noticed mice dropping I put down poisen a month or two back and hope the little blighters are no more. However next week I am having a new kitchen and they will need access to the loft to change the lights. On closer inspection it seems that the mice may still be there and anyway have been making the fibreglass insulation their home for some time. Yuk, now I am going to have to remove the insulation plus mice debris in a small confined space. Can you tell me the best way to remove and anything I should think of in advance.I really just want to get in there and put it in bin bags but I suspect I should prepare myself more. Thank-you for your advice :-)

Hi tiger, wear a mask and gloves that fibre glass itches like hell, take the bin bags up there with you, fill in any small holes you find while you are up there, mice can get through the smallest holes imagineable, Ray
It is possible that they are in the fibreglass insulation, it happened in my Mums house. Make sure your trousers are tucked in your socks etc before going in!
Mask, long rubber gloves, scarf, boilersuit, cap. Fibreglass insulation is seriously under-rated as a highly dangerous material. It can and will penetrate the skin and is fine enough to pass through the smallest capilliaries in the blood stream. It can travel round in the blood for years, then one day enter the heart, and this time trigger a heart attack. I can only think that Health and Safety gloss over this due to its convenience and universal use. Imagine the uproar in the UK if they decided to prohibit it in the same way as they have asbestos!! There's not much available in the way of replacement either, besides sheep wool.
Take all possible care.
