Bread Oven Repair
2 Answers
I've recently bought a house with an original bread oven. It doesn't look as though it's been used for ages, but I'd like to have it looked at, with a view to refurbishing it back to it's original working condition - any ideas on what sort of trade I should contact about this?
Thanks in advance.

I take it you mean the type recessed into an old chimney
I've seen loads of breadovens but I've never heard of anyone that's got one working again!
I'd try SPAB

Any good Bricklayer can repair the old brick work / masonry & you will need to get a Chimney sweep in to make sure that the flue / chimney has not been capped off of that it is not blocked. also a CORGI engineer can test the flue/Chimney for (pull) that is to make sure that the Chimney is actually working and evacuating the products of combustion safely to the outside atmosphere. I would also check with your local council aswell if you intend to use a solid fuel ie. coal or timber for example, that you can do as you may be in a smokeless zone .. Hope this helps you out..
