Can you recommend any long lasting scented candles? I've bought some cheap ones in the past, but I can never smell them!

I love Yankee Candles - really realistic fragrances and long lasting.

I love the spiced apple ones from tesco
Most of the scented candles I've tried have been pretty ineffectual. I much prefer using a tealight candle under one of these aromatic oil burners. You can get some very attractive scented oils for burning and the after effects seem to last longer.

Thanks for your suggestions :-)
I also find using tealights under aromatic oil burners much more effective than scented candles too. I use Incense/Joss sticks for the same reason.

(Looking forward to burning Christmas Spice soon)!

I light ordinary & Church candles every night, 'specially now the nights are drawing in - so cosy!
The new Glade scented oils are very good. They start as a candle but melt into oil and burn as an oil burner. When the oil is used the flame goes out! They have three fragrances (that I have seen).
Glad you mentioned those Kathyan - I've seen them advertised on TV, or in a magazine, but just couldn't remember the name of them.

They sound quite effective & as they have a dual purpose, I'll give them a try.
Hi there, I have tried them all and Yankee Candles are by far the best, they cost a little more but are worth every penny, The Christmas fragrances are wonderful, I buy the tartlets which you melt on an oil burner they only cost les than 1 each and last for ages, your whole home will smell wonderful!
I burn any kind of candle at all - but for the scent - I use a big pan of water simmering all evening and I put in whatever scent I want - often sprinkle in some cheap cinnamon (the kind you use for cooking) and the whole house smells like you are making something wonderful!!! If you have any orange peelings throw them in the pot too. You can use it for days before starting over.
glade candles really do work

also like jo malone candles and also marks and spencers burner oils even work on fag smoke and they only cost 2.00 each happy sniffing :)

But BBWCHATT I do like your answers! I thanked the first four who replied. It's just that I've been really busy of late and haven't had the chance to reply again.
I've since bought some Yankee candles, as suggested by helliebobs, and they smell divine.
I may even try your recommendation one day ;-)
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ANSWERS!
