I would like some advice on relocating to Devon from the South East.

Grate place to live, moved to cornwall last year, from Barkshire, main problam is work and wages, would advise that you try to get a job B4 move, wage scale lower, cost of liveing just has high, house prices going up, need a car to get around unless you move to a inner town location, I relocated to just outside Plymouth, more jobs in larger citys, House prices high in Exeter.
