Worcester Boiler Water Gauge Falling

I was told to make sure the gauge was at the 10 o'clock position. Just lately it has been falling below that and the pilot light goes out (i suppose this is a safety feature) before I get ripped off by a boiler engineer could anyone tell me a likely cause.
It used to seldom need a connection to the water supply and topping up just a cople of times a year now it goes down in a week or so

The likely cause is a leak in the system somewhere causing the pressure loss. (Normal pressure should be 1.0 to 1.5 bar on the gauge). No pilot light is a safety feature, as you guessed. It's either a DIY search for aleak, or pay to have it done, I'm afraid.

I'm not a plumber but it sounds like you've got a leak somewhere.I should try and find it quickly if I was you,as it could be doing some serious damage!
