Has anyone used one of those plastic things that you put ice in to catch the damp air from the dryer. I was wondering if they were any good or not. I have to put the hose out of the window and it is so cold with a large window open. I used to be able to put it through a much smaller top window, but have had to move it from there. I would be grateful if anyone can help as a condenser dryer is a bit of an expensive solution.
Don't know about those plastic things, does yours vent at the back ? if it does why don't you put a pipe through the wall, with a back draught shutter fitted outside.
raysparx's idea is the better bet. I have one of the box things. It works ok but it is in the garage. For some reason there seems to be fluff ( like dust only thicker) all over the top of the dryer. As I say it is ok and works well in the garage, but not sure I would like it in the house.
Thanks both of you--trouble is Ray that the dryer keeps getting moved--the other half has these bright ideas--and I could end up with holes everywhere!
I bought one of those plastic things that you are posting about & took it back to the shop a couple of days later. It simply did not work & I still had loads of steam. I have since spoken to someone else who had the same problem so personally I do not recommend it.
