hi all i have had a net over my pond all winter and removed it last week. well i caught a heron in the pond this morning (again) does anybody have any suggestions to scare them off i really dont want a net over it. ebay is selling a pyramid that floats on the water but it is only 6.99 it seems really cheap if it does the job, has anybody had any experience with these dreadful but beautiful birds.

have you tried a plastic heron? A friend of mine had one and said it worked really well.

i have one but apparently the heron gets used to it
What did you catch it with - must have been a very big net.
You do have to move the plastic heron around or it would get used to it.

hahaha very funny scuzzball i didnt mean literally
The only other way is to put wire or fishing line around the pond.Put as many tall plants around the edges as you can.For 6.99 give it ago its a lot cheeper than replacing the fish .
We used to get them but as they are protected you cant kill them.
