Anyone know a slick or easy way to clean an oven with black-charred baked-on residue? - I have considered taking a flame-torch to ours !!

mr muscle oven cleaner. It's a foam in an aerosol, leave for 30 mins then comes off well. wear rubber gloves though as it burns your hands
Fairy Power Spray ,works really well .

Thanks for that- will try to persuede my other half to buy one of these for me to use.....!
Use one of those stanley knife blade scrapers - the inside of the oven is surprisingly toough and you shouldn't scratch it. Get the worst off and then use any of the above products.
