is american willow that trails in water poisionous as we want to plant it in our fishing lake , as we have been informed that it is . if it is will it affect the fish and other water creatures living in the pond .

No it is not poisonous you will be fine, I wouldnt recommend eating it though!!

Actually, it's a fact that pharmaceutical aspirin was originally created from a chemical very similar to one found in white willow bark. Weeping Willow is a member of the White Willow family and an excellent source of methyl salicylate and medical research shows that this chemical in white willow not only reduces fever and relieves pain and inflammation but also may help prevent heart attack, stroke, digestive tract cancers and migraine headaches....

I forgot about that clanad, when I was a tree surgeon, some of the guys would chew willow for a headache etc and I remember the Aspirin connection!!
