Does anyone know if you are actually aloud to be having bonfires in your garden at any time of day you want? Where i live no one has any consideration for anyone and you can garantee as soon as you put washing on the line one of the neighbours decides they are going to burn some bit of weed from there garden! you just feel like screaming at them. As far as i was aware it was after 6 in the evening you could have bonfires is this correct?
you are right about the 6pm thing, but you might have to check with your local council. My mother in law has constant battles with her neighbours about this and complains very often to the council who then do nothing. I would try having a word with neighbours first and ask them to at least let you know when they intend on having one. Or print something off your local council's website about timings of bonfires and put it through there door.
One of the most common misconceptions is that garden bonfires can be lit quite freely after 6pm. There are no specified times when you can or cannot have a bonfire, its a matter of being reasonable.
Why do people need to light bonfires anyway when the local amenity tip takes all the stuff. Some councils collect garden stuff. It's lazy and selfish. Green waste can be composted. Smoke from just one bonfire can annoy the whole neighbourhood not just next door.
