Is it OK to run speaker wires in the same conduit as power cable when I chase the cables into the wall to hide them????

However, there's a possibility of that you might experience 'mains hum' through the speakers if you're using unscreened speaker cables.
Scientific theories seem to break down where this is concerned. I've run unscreened speaker cables next to mains cables with no problems at all. Equally, I've placed (so-called) screened cables some distance from a power cable and had problems with inductive hum.
The only certain way to check is to place the speaker cables alongside the power cable, before putting them into the conduit, to see if everything seems OK.
